Small curd-raisin plaits with cast iron

  • 125 g Low-fat curd
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 5 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Milk
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 250 g Flour
  • 2 coated Tsp Baking Powder
  • 50 g chopped almonds
  • 100 g Raisins
  • 40 g flaked almonds
  • 100 g Icing sugar
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Orange juice
  • baking paper

Directions

    Mix quark, sugar, vanilla sugar, oil, milk and egg with the whisk of the hand mixer. Mix flour, baking powder and chopped almonds and knead in portions first with the whisks, then with the dough hooks of the hand mixer to a smooth dough. Finally knead in the raisins. Form the dough into a roll and divide it into approx. 9 equal pieces. Form 3 strands from each piece of dough and braid each strand into a plait. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven (electric range: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for 12-14 minutes.

    Place on a cake rack and allow to cool. Roast the flaked almonds in a pan without fat until golden brown. Remove from the pan and allow to cool. Mix icing sugar and orange juice and brush the braids with it. Sprinkle with flaked almonds and leave to dry
