Ingredients

  • 125 g Butter or margarine
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 6 Eggs (size M )
  • 1/4 l Milk
  • 1/2 cube (20 g) Yeast
  • 250 g Flour
  • 60 g Currants
  • 1 knife tip Cinnamon
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 500 g Apples
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar

Directions

    Cream fat and sugar. Separate four eggs, add egg yolks and two whole eggs, whip until creamy. Slowly heat up the milk, dissolve the yeast in it and add to the fat egg mass. Add flour, currants and cinnamon and mix well.

    Peel apples, remove seeds, cut into small cubes, sprinkle with lemon juice and add to the dough. Beat the remaining egg whites until stiff and carefully fold into the dough. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.

    Heat a pies mould, spread a little fat on each cavity and fill it to 3/4 with the dough. Bake the dough until it is lightly brown and turn it carefully with the help of two forks. Bake from the other side until golden brown.

    Remove the cakes and sprinkle with icing sugar and serve with sour cream. Makes 50 pieces.
