Ingredients

  • 100 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 125 g Butter or margarine
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 Eggs (size M)
  • 250 g Flour
  • 40 g Cornstarch
  • 1 pack of Baking Powder
  • 7-8 TABLESPOONS Milk
  • 1 package (125 g) Cake glaze dark
  • 50 g white chocolate
  • baking paper

Directions

    Roughly grate the marzipan. Cream fat, sugar, vanillin sugar and salt with the whisk of the hand mixer. Add the eggs one after the other and stir in. Mix flour, starch and baking powder. Alternately stir in 4-5 tablespoons of milk and marzipan. Place 5 piles of dough by the spoonful on 2 baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake one after the other in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 12-15 minutes

    After approx. 10 minutes baking time, brush the surfaces with approx. 3 tbsp. milk and bake. Let the Americans cool down on a cake rack. Put the cake glaze in hot water. After about 10 minutes, brush the American from the underside (flat side) with the liquid icing. Peel the chocolate with a peeler into shavings and sprinkle on the still liquid chocolate side of the Americans. Allow to dry
