Boil up approx. 3/8 l water and milk, season with salt. Clean, peel, wash and slice the kohlrabi. Steam covered in the milk for 10-12 minutes
Cut the ham into strips. Wash the basil, remove the leaves. Stir starch and a little cold water until smooth. Stir into the sauce and bring to the boil again briefly. Fold in basil and ham. Season to taste with pepper and a little salt.
Pour everything into a greased casserole dish and sprinkle with cheese. Grill under a hot grill or in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 225 °C/circulating air: 200 °C/gas: level 4) for 6-8 minutes until golden brown. Delicious with baguette
