Hearty herb rice with meat skewer

Ingredients

  • 250 g Wholemeal rice
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 600 g Pork cutlet (in pieces)
  • 4 small onions
  • 200 g Carrots
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 1/4 l Meat broth (instant)
  • 4 TABLESPOONS creamy peanut butter
  • 100 g Whipped cream
  • 1 TABLESPOON sauce thickener
  • 1 package (25 g) frozen Italian herbs
  • 7-10 Tbsp Basil
  • 8 wooden skewers

Directions

    Prepare rice in boiling salted water according to package instructions. Wash the meat, dab dry and cut into small cubes. Peel onions and cut into slices. Peel and wash carrots and cut into small cubes. Put meat and onions on 8 skewers.

    Heat oil in a large pan. Fry the meat skewers in it all around for about 6 minutes. Add the carrots to the rice 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Take out skewers, season with salt and pepper and keep warm. Deglaze the cooking fat with the broth and bring to the boil. Stir in peanut butter and cream. Stir in sauce thickener and bring to the boil. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir the herbs into the rice.
