Defrost puff pastry slices side by side at room temperature for about 15 minutes
For the dip: Peel onion and garlic and dice finely. Mix with quark, mayonnaise and mineral water. Season to taste with salt and pepper
Cut the slices of dough and ham into approx. 7 long finger-wide strips. Place the ham on the dough strips and twist both into cords. Put them on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Sprinkle with thyme and cheese. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/gas: level 3) for approx. 12 minutes.
