Ingredients

Servings: 30
  • 500 g Flour
  • 1 TEASPOON Salt
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 50 g room-warm butter
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 1 cube (42 g) fresh yeast
  • 125 g Raisins
  • 1 Egg yolk (size M)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour

Directions

  1. 1

Pour flour, salt, sugar, butter in flakes and egg into a large mixing bowl. Warm milk lukewarm, remove from the stove, crumble yeast into it and dissolve it while stirring. Pour onto the flour and knead into a smooth dough with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes. Wash and drain the raisins. Knead the dough with floured hands on a floured work surface again.

  2. 2

Knead the raisins well and form the dough into a roll (30 cm long). Put it into a well greased, floured box form (30 cm long, 13 cm wide, 9 cm deep) and let it rise again in a warm place for about 45 minutes. Whisk the egg yolk and water, brush the surface of the mare with it and bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ circulating air: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven, place on a cake rack, allow to cool in the tin, turn over and serve. Serve with butter and jam
