Country bread casserole with ham

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 7-10 Tbsp 800 g-1 kg leek (leek)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) butter/margarine
  • 1 go. Tbsp. flour, 200 ml milk
  • 2 TEASPOONS Vegetable broth
  • 75-100 g Edam, pepper, salt (30 % fat in dry matter)
  • 8 discs (approx. 200 g) cooked ham
  • 8 discs Farmhouse or wholemeal bread (à approx. 60 g)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 2-3 stem(s) Parsley
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sunflower seeds

Directions

    Clean and wash the leek and cut into coarse rings. Steam in hot fat for about 5 minutes. Dust with flour and sweat briefly. Stir in 1/2 l water, milk and stock. Bring to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Grate cheese. Melt 2/3 in the sauce. Season the sauce with pepper and salt if necessary

    Place 1 slice of ham around 1 slice of bread. Layer bread and sauce in a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheese

    Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/recirculating air: 175 °C/gas: level 3) for 15-18 minutes. Wash parsley and chop finely. Roast sunflower seeds in a pan without fat. Sprinkle both over the casserole
