Clean, wash and cut the beans into short pieces. Cook with savory in boiling salted water for 8-10 minutes. Drain and let drain well. Remove the savory. Heat the butter in a large pan.
Roast breadcrumbs in it. Add 1 diced onion and 1 garlic clove. Sprinkle with sugar and caramelise slightly. Add the beans and season with salt and pepper. Goes well with e.g. smoked pork chops.
