Cook the broccoli in a little salted water for 12 minutes. Peel and finely chop the onion. Fry in hot oil. Pour on cream. Dice the processed cheese, add it and let it melt while stirring. Season sauce with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Drain the broccoli, drain well and place in a small casserole dish. Pour cheese sauce over it. Sprinkle with almond slivers and bake in a preheated oven (electric: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for about 15 minutes.
Add bread after 5 minutes and bake until crispy.
