Put the chickpeas in a sieve, rinse and drain well. Peel and roughly chop the garlic. Clean the chilli, cut lengthwise, wash and remove the seeds. Chop the pod finely. Halve the avocado and remove the seeds.
Remove the flesh from the skin. Cut the flesh into small cubes. Puree the chickpeas, garlic, chilli and avocado with a hand blender. Season to taste with salt, pepper and lime juice and chill.
