Apple and Almond Casserole

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 4 Raisin milk roll from the previous day (approx. 70 g each)
  • 4 Apples (e.g. Elstar, approx. 150 g each)
  • 1/2 l Milk
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 package Sauce powder "Vanilla flavor
  • 75 g Almond kernels without skin
  • 2-3 TABLESPOONS Honey
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 7-10 Tbsp Aluminium foil

Directions

    Cut the rolls in half lengthwise and slice them. Wash apples, dab dry, peel, quarter, cut out core. Cut apples into thin slices. Mix milk, eggs, sugar, vanillin sugar and sauce powder. Layer bread and apples in 4 small, greased casseroles.

    Pour egg milk over them, sprinkle with almonds and press down briefly. Bake in the preheated oven (electric range: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Approx. 5 minutes before the end of the baking time, drizzle honey over it and bake until done, covering with foil if necessary. Take out, let cool down a little and dust with icing sugar
