  • 1 package (6 g) Orange fruit
  • 1 TEASPOON Baking Powder
  • 50 g crushed almonds
  • 5 Oranges (about 200 g each)
  • 8 sheets Gelatine
  • 450 ml Buttermilk
  • 10 TABLESPOONS red vodka liqueur
  • 150 g Orange marmalade
  • 250 g Whipped cream
  • 1 package red glaze
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • baking paper

Directions

  1. 1

Cream fat, 125 g sugar, 1 packet vanilla sugar and salt with the whisk of the hand mixer. Stir in the eggs one after the other. Mix flour, orange fruit, baking powder and almonds and stir into the egg-fat mixture.

  2. 2

Line the bottom of a springform pan (26 cm Ø) with baking paper and grease the rim. Pour in the dough, smooth it down and bake in a preheated oven (electric: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for 30-35 minutes.

  3. 3

Let it cool down on a cake rack. Meanwhile peel oranges so that the white skin is completely removed. Cut some of the oranges into about 18 slices and place them on kitchen paper. Cut the rest of the oranges into pieces.

  4. 4

Soak gelatine in plenty of cold water. Mix buttermilk, 6 tablespoons of vodka liqueur and 50 g sugar. Squeeze out the gelatine and dissolve at low heat. Add some of the buttermilk mixture to the gelatine, stir and stir into the rest of the buttermilk mixture.

  5. 5

Cold. In the meantime, remove the cake base from the tin and remove the baking paper. Stir jam and 2 tablespoons of vodka liqueur until smooth and spread on the cake base. Place a cake ring around it. Whip cream and remaining vanilla sugar until stiff.

  6. 6

As soon as the buttermilk cream begins to gel, add the cream and orange pieces and fold in. Spread the cream on the cake base and smooth it down. Place the orange slices on top and chill for about 3 hours.

  7. 7

Remove cake ring. Mix cake glaze powder and remaining sugar in a pot. Fill up remaining vodka with cold water to 1/4 litre. Mix the cake glaze powder with it and bring to the boil while stirring.

  8. 8

Allow to cool for 1-2 minutes and pour over the cake from the centre. Leave to set in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. Results in about 12 pieces.
