Ingredients

  • 250 g butter/margarine
  • 175 g + 2 tablespoons + 60 g sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 4 Eggs (Gr. M)
  • 250 g Flour
  • 2 TEASPOONS Baking Powder
  • 1 l Milk
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 1 kg fresh sour cherries
  • 7-10 Tbsp and 1/2 l cherry juice or 2 glasses (720 ml each) cherries
  • 50 g Cornstarch
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated rind of 1 untreated lemon
  • 2 packages Pudding powder "Vanilla Flavor
  • 2 TABLESPOONS flaked almonds
  • 200 g Whipped cream

Directions

    Stir the soft fat, 175 g sugar and vanillin sugar until light creamy. Stir in the eggs one by one. Mix flour and baking powder. Alternately stir in 100 ml milk. Grease a baking tray (approx. 35 x 40 cm) and spread the dough on it. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C / gas: level 3) for 20-25 minutes

    Wash the cherries, pit them (drain the cherries from the jar, collecting 1/2 l juice). Mix starch and 5 tbsp. juice. Boil up the rest of the juice, 2 tbsp. sugar and lemon peel. Stir in starch and bring to the boil. Fold in cherries

    Mix pudding powder and 60 g sugar in 100 ml milk. Boil 800 ml milk. Stir in the pudding, bring to the boil. Pour the pudding and compote in strips onto the base. Put in a cool place for about 3 hours

    Roast the almonds. Whip cream until stiff. Cut cake into pieces and decorate
