First I peel and wash rutabaga, carrots and potatoes. The rutabaga and potatoes I dice. Slice the carrots. Peel and chop the onions.
I wash the meat and dab it dry. Then I heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a large pot and steam half of the onions until they are glassy. Add vegetables, potatoes and pork cheek. Season with salt and pepper. Add 3/4 -1 l water, bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about 1 hour.
Take the meat out and cut into thin slices. My special trick: I put the pork cheek in the fat pan and roast it under the hot grill in the oven for about 10 minutes until crispy. Turn once in between
In the meantime, I heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry the sausages in it. Take them out and keep them warm. Add the remaining onions to the frying fat and fry until golden brown. Wash the parsley, shake dry and chop
Finally I add the butter to the turnips and crush everything into coarse pieces. I season the stew with salt and pepper. Then I arrange everything and sprinkle roasted onions and parsley over it. For this I serve mustard
