Ingredients

  • 100 g Dark chocolate
  • 250 g soft butter or margarine
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 5 Eggs (size M)
  • 7-10 Tbsp a few drops of bitter almond aroma
  • 400 g Flour
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 300 g white couverture
  • 250 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 50 g Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp green, red and yellow food colouring
  • 7-10 Tbsp Chocolate decoration
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar

Directions

    Finely chop the chocolate. Cream fat, sugar and vanillin sugar. Gradually stir in eggs and flavour. Mix flour and baking powder. Sieve onto the fat-egg mixture and stir in, fold in chocolate. Grease a lamb dish (29 cm long; 2 litres capacity) and dust with flour.

    Fill in the dough and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for about 1 hour. Take out of the oven and let rest in the pan for 10 minutes. Turn out onto a cake rack and let it cool down. Chop the chocolate coating and melt carefully over a warm water bath. Cover the lamb with the chocolate coating and allow to dry. Knead marzipan with icing sugar. Halve the mixture, colour one half green with food colouring. Cut the remaining marzipan in half again, colour one half pink and one yellow. Roll out pink and yellow marzipan thinly (approx. 2 mm) on a work surface dusted with icing sugar. Cut out the flowers. Cut out the centre of each flower once and place yellow circles in the pink flowers and vice versa, press them down slightly.

    Knead marzipan with icing sugar. Halve the mixture, colour one half green with food colouring. Cut the remaining marzipan in half again, colour one half pink and one yellow. Roll out pink and yellow marzipan thinly (approx. 2 mm) on a work surface dusted with icing sugar. Cut out the flowers. Cut out the centre of each flower once and place yellow circles in the pink flowers and vice versa, press them down slightly. Roll about 1/3 of the green marzipan into a long strand. Cut in half and twist together. Press the rest of the marzipan through a potato press. Place the lamb on a plate. Decorate with marzipan grass, flowers and cord. Heat the decorative writing according to the instructions on the package, paint the lamb with it, let it dry
