Wash the strawberries, drain well and clean. Halve or quarter strawberries depending on size. Crumble meringue coarsely.
Whisk butter, 225 g sugar, vanillin sugar and salt with the whisk of the hand mixer for 4-5 minutes until creamy. Add the eggs and 1 tablespoon of starch in turns. Mix flour, remaining starch and baking powder, stir in briefly. Fold meringue, except for a little bit for sprinkling, and strawberries loosely into the dough.
Pour the dough into the greased, floured fat pan of the oven, smooth it down and sprinkle with 75 g sugar. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: see manufacturer), 2nd shelf from below, for approx. 45 minutes. Take out the cake, sprinkle with meringue and let it cool down. Whipped cream tastes good with it.
