  • 125 g soft butter
  • 1 egg + 2 very fresh

  • 1 TEASPOON Baking soda
  • 400 g Icing sugar
  • 1 TABLESPOON Lemon juice
  • baking paper
  • 1 Freezer bag

Directions

  1. 1

Two days before, first mix 400 g flour, sugar, cocoa, butter, egg, syrup, cardamom and baking soda with the dough hooks of the mixer, then knead into a smooth dough with floured hands. Cover and leave to cool for 2 days.

  2. 2

On the day after next, preheat the oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/circulating air: 150 °C/gas: see manufacturer). Line two baking trays with baking paper. Roll out the dough in portions on a little flour to a thickness of approx. 3 mm. Cut out 16 stars of different sizes (approx. 4.5 cm, 5 cm, 6 cm, 7 cm, 8 cm and 9 cm each).

  3. 3

Spread half of the stars on the plates.

  4. 4

Bake in a hot oven for 10-12 minutes one after the other. Take out, let cool for about 5 minutes. Then remove from the baking tray together with the paper and allow to cool. Bake the remaining stars in the same way.

  5. 5

For the icing, stir icing sugar, egg white and lemon juice until smooth. Mix the biscuits according to size with the icing to form fir trees. Pour the rest of the icing into a freezer bag. Cut off a small corner.

  6. 6

Decorate trees with it. Alternatively, decorate stars individually with the cast.
