Ingredients

  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 2 ripe pears (about 250 g each)
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 2 eggs , 1 pinch of salt (Gr. M)
  • 400 g Low-fat curd
  • 80 g soft butter/margarine
  • 3 TABLESPOONS milk, 100 g flour
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 50 g crushed almonds
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated rind of
  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS Breadcrumbs
  • 1 TABLESPOON flaked almonds
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar

Directions

    Grease an ovenproof dish (approx. 30 cm long). Wash, quarter and core the pears. Cut into slices and sprinkle with lemon juice immediately

    Separate eggs. Beat egg white and salt until stiff. Mix quark, egg yolk, fat, milk flour, sugar, ground almonds and lemon peel. Fold in the beaten egg white. Layer quark mixture and pears in the mould. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs

    Bake in the preheated oven (electric oven: 200 °C/circulating air: 175 °C/gas: level 3) for 40-50 minutes. After about 25 minutes, sprinkle almond flakes over the top and bake until done. Dust with icing sugar. Serve with vanilla or chocolate sauce

    You can also bake the quark casserole with apples and hazelnuts. If you like, drizzle 2 tablespoons of pear or apple brandy while still hot
