Puff pastry strips with apple rings

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of (450 g) deep-frozen puff pastry
  • 500 ml Milk
  • 1 package Pudding powder "Vanilla Flavor"
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Sugar
  • 3 small apples
  • 1 TABLESPOON Lemon juice
  • 1 TABLESPOON Butter
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Sugar crystals
  • 1 TABLESPOON Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cling film
  • baking paper

Directions

    Place puff pastry slices next to each other and defrost at room temperature. Bring 440 ml milk to the boil. Stir the pudding powder, sugar and 6 tablespoons of milk until smooth and stir into the boiling milk. Cook the pudding for at least 1 minute while stirring, then pour into a bowl. Cover the surface with cling film and chill for about 30 minutes until lukewarm.

    Wrap the puff pastry from both narrow sides to the middle and roll out lengthwise 18-20 cm long (7-8 cm wide). Place 3 strips of puff pastry on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Stir the pudding until smooth and spread on the 6 strips. Wash the apples, cut out the core. Slice the apples into thin slices. Spread the apple slices on the pudding and brush with lemon juice. Melt butter and brush the apple slices with it. Sprinkle the puff pastry rim with sugar crystals. Bake baking trays with puff pastry strips one after the other on the lower rail in the preheated oven (electric range: 250 °C/ convection oven: 225 °C/ gas: level 5) for 10-12 minutes.

    Spread the apple slices on the pudding and brush with lemon juice. Melt butter and brush the apple slices with it. Sprinkle the puff pastry rim with sugar crystals. Bake baking trays with puff pastry strips one after the other on the lower rail in the preheated oven (electric range: 250 °C/ convection oven: 225 °C/ gas: level 5) for 10-12 minutes. Let the strips cool, sprinkle with icing sugar and serve lukewarm or cold. Whipped cream tastes good with it
