  • 375 ml Milk
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 1 cube (42 g) Yeast
  • 500 g Flour
  • 6 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 1 pack of Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 250 g Poppy
  • 1 TABLESPOON Honey
  • 1 TABLESPOON Rum
  • 1 TEASPOON Cinnamon
  • 20 g Breadcrumbs
  • 100 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 100 g Butter or margarine
  • 100 g chopped almonds
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour

    Warm 50 ml of milk in a pot with 1 tablespoon of sugar lukewarm. Crumble the yeast and dissolve in the milk. Put flour in a bowl, make a depression in the middle and add the yeast milk. Cover with flour and leave to rise in a warm place for about 5 minutes. Add 75 ml milk, 140 g sugar, 125 ml water, oil, egg, vanillin sugar and salt and knead everything into a smooth dough.

    Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes. In the meantime, grind the poppy seeds finely in a universal chopper. Bring the remaining milk with honey, 60 g sugar, rum and cinnamon to the boil. Stir in the poppy seeds and breadcrumbs, bring to the boil while stirring once and set aside. Dice marzipan finely and stir into the poppy seed mixture. Grease the fat pan and dust with flour. Roll out the dough and let it rise covered for about 20 minutes. Melt butter, mix with remaining sugar and almonds. Press several depressions into the dough as desired and spread the poppy seed mixture in them.

Spread the butter-almond mixture on the cake and bake in the preheated oven (electric range: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 35 minutes. Results in approx. 16 pieces
