Orange liqueur with kumquats and cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 125 g untreated kumquats
  • 1 untreated orange
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 200 ml Orange juice
  • 3 small cinnamon sticks
  • 0,5 l Brandy
  • 7-10 Tbsp one orange leaf for each bottle

Directions

    Wash kumquats and orange hot, rub dry. Cut the kumquats into slices. Peel orange peel into strips with a zest ripper. Halve the orange and squeeze the juice. Caramelise sugar in a pot. Add the kumquats and orange peel strips, stir in, pour in all the orange juice and simmer until the caramel is completely dissolved.

    Add the cinnamon sticks and brandy. Pour the liqueur mixture into bottles. Divide the solids evenly. Wash the orange leaves and pour into the bottles. Close the bottles and leave them in a sunny place for about 1 month. In the meantime, shake the bottles from time to time
