Onion pizza with sardines

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 800 g Onions
  • 2-3 TABLESPOONS Olive oil
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar
  • 4 Stem(s) Thyme
  • 3 TABLESPOONS small black olives with stone
  • 1 tin(s) (125 g) Sardine fillets with skin and bones
  • 1 package (400 g) fresh baked pizza dough (yeast dough with olive oil; rolled out rectangularly on baking paper ready to bake; 37 x 25 cm; refrigerated shelf)

Directions

    Peel and thinly slice the onions. Heat the oil in a wide saucepan. Steam onions in it at low heat for about 20 minutes without letting colour take. Add bay leaf and season with salt, pepper and sugar

    Wash the thyme, shake dry and chop the leaves coarsely. Drain the olives and sardines

    Unroll the dough and place it on a baking tray with the baking paper. Add thyme to the onions and season again. Remove bay leaf. Cover dough with onions, sardines and olives

    Bake the pizza in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 225 °C/ convection oven: 200 °C/ gas: see manufacturer) for 15-20 minutes. Serve hot, lukewarm or cold
