Directions

##Walnuts## and coarsely chop the almonds. Knead marzipan, 50 g icing sugar and nuts, except for some chopped almonds for sprinkling. For the dough mix ##quark##, egg, milk, oil, sugar and salt. Mix flour and baking powder and knead with the quark mixture to a smooth dough. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface into a rectangle (35 x 50 cm) and spread with the nut mixture, leaving about 1 cm free at the edges. Roll up the rectangle from the long side. Place the roll of dough on a baking tray lined with baking paper to form a wreath and cut a zigzag pattern into the surface with scissors.

Whisk the egg yolk and cream and brush the wreath with it. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 35 minutes. Let it cool down. Stir 150 g icing sugar and 4 tbsp. water until smooth. Spread the icing on the wreath and sprinkle with the remaining almonds. Whipped ##cream## tastes good with it.
