Ingredients

  • 3 Apples (e.g. Boskop) (approx. 125 g each)
  • 250 g soft butter or margarine
  • 200 g + 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 6 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 150 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 200 g Flour
  • 50 g Cornstarch
  • 1 package Sauce powder "Vanilla flavor
  • 2 TEASPOONS Baking Powder
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Calvados
  • 1 TABLESPOON Icing sugar
  • 1 Protein (size S)
  • 7-10 Tbsp g
  • 7-10 Tbsp Apple Slices
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour

Directions

    Washing apples. Cut 2 apples into quarters, remove core. Cut quarter into cubes. Boil 50 g fat, 50 g sugar and lemon juice in a pan while stirring. Sauté the diced apples for about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat, remove apple cubes with a skimmer and let them drain. Put the juice aside in the pan.

    Leave to cool. In the meantime, roughly grate 100 g marzipan. Stir 200 g fat, 150 g sugar, vanillin sugar, marzipan and salt for about 5 minutes until creamy. Stir in the eggs one after the other. Mix flour, starch, sauce powder and baking powder and stir in alternately with the Calvados. Fold in the apple cubes. Grease a box form (30 cm long, 2 litres capacity) and dust with flour. Fill in the dough and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for about 50 minutes. In the meantime, core the remaining apple with an apple corer and cut into slices. Place apple slices in the pan with the juice, bring to the boil and steam for about 3 minutes. Take them out and let them cool down. After 25 minutes baking time, place the apple slices, except some for decoration, on the cake and continue baking. Take out the cake, let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes and carefully turn it over onto a grid.

    Fill in the dough and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for about 50 minutes. In the meantime, core the remaining apple with an apple corer and cut into slices. Place apple slices in the pan with the juice, bring to the boil and steam for about 3 minutes. Take them out and let them cool down. After 25 minutes baking time, place the apple slices, except some for decoration, on the cake and continue baking. Take out the cake, let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes and carefully turn it over onto a grid. Let it cool down. Sprinkle the cake with 1 tablespoon of sugar. For decoration knead 50 g marzipan and icing sugar and roll out 7-8 mm thick. Use an apple cutter to cut out small apples. Brush the marzipan apples with egg white and sprinkle with coloured sugar. Place pistachio halves and almond slivers as stems on top. Cut the cake into slices and decorate with the marzipan apples and apple slices

    Let it cool down. Sprinkle the cake with 1 tablespoon of sugar. For decoration knead 50 g marzipan and icing sugar and roll out 7-8 mm thick. Use an apple cutter to cut out small apples. Brush the marzipan apples with egg white and sprinkle with coloured sugar. Place pistachio halves and almond slivers as stems on top. Cut the cake into slices and decorate with the marzipan apples and apple slices
