  • 500 g sour apples (e.g. Elstar)
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 185 g Sugar
  • 150 g soft butter or margarine
  • 100 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp a few drops of bitter almond aroma
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 150 g Flour
  • 1 coated Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 TABLESPOON Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

  1. 1

Peel, quarter, core and cut apples into slices. Mix with lemon juice and set aside. Grease a tart tin (bottom 23 cm Ø; top 26 cm Ø; 3 cm high) well. Sprinkle 60 g sugar on the bottom (not on the edge!!!) and spread 25 g fat in flakes on top. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 5-6 minutes until the sugar caramelises slightly.

  2. 2

Take out and spread apple slices on top. Coarsely grate the marzipan. Cream 125 g fat, marzipan, 125 g sugar, vanillin sugar, salt and flavour. Stir in the eggs one after the other. Mix flour and baking powder and stir in. Put the dough into the form and spread carefully. Bake in a hot oven at the same temperature on the lower shelf for 30-35 minutes. Leave the cake to cool in the tin for about 10 minutes, then carefully turn out onto a cake rack. Let it cool down.
