Ingredients

  • 200 g Butter
  • 250 g Flour
  • 225 g Sugar
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 750 g Low-fat curd
  • 1 package Pudding powder "Vanilla Flavor"
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated peel of 1 untreated orange
  • 300 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 75 g + 2 tablespoons icing sugar
  • 1 Egg yolk (size M)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Orange slices
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cling film
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

    Knead 100 g butter in pieces, flour, 75 g sugar, 1 egg and 1 pinch of salt with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Quickly work into a smooth dough with your hands. Wrap in cling film and chill for about 30 minutes. Roll out the dough into a circle (approx. 35 cm Ø) on a floured work surface. Grease a springform pan (26 cm Ø) and line with the dough. Pull the dough up about 5 cm along the edge.

    Keep cold. Cream 100 g butter, 150 g sugar and vanilla sugar with the whisk of the hand mixer. Separate 2 eggs, stir in 1 egg and 2 egg yolks one after the other. Stir in the quark, pudding powder and orange zest. Beat the egg white and 1 pinch of salt until stiff and fold in. Fill the quark mixture into the prepared mould and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: not suitable/ gas: level 2) for approx. 50 minutes. Knead marzipan and 75 g icing sugar. Roll out the marzipan thinly on a work surface dusted with 1 tablespoon icing sugar. Roll out approx. 1 cm wide strips with a wavy pastry wheel. Take the cake out of the oven. Place the marzipan strips in a diamond shape on the cake.

    Knead marzipan and 75 g icing sugar. Roll out the marzipan thinly on a work surface dusted with 1 tablespoon icing sugar. Roll out approx. 1 cm wide strips with a wavy pastry wheel. Take the cake out of the oven. Place the marzipan strips in a diamond shape on the cake. Spread marzipan with egg yolk. Bake for another 15-20 minutes. Loosen the rim of the springform pan. Let the cake cool down in the tin on a grid. Dust the edge of the cake with 1 tablespoon icing sugar. Decorate with orange slices. Cinnamon cream tastes good with it
