For the stewed cherries, drain the cherries and collect the juice. Mix the sauce powder, 1 packet of vanillin sugar and 25 g sugar, stir with a little juice until smooth. Bring the rest of the juice to the boil and remove from the stove.
Stir in the sauce powder, simmer for 1 minute while stirring. Stir in cherries and let cool. For the dough, stir butter, 75 g sugar, 1 sachet vanilla sugar and salt until creamy. Stir in the eggs one by one.
Stir in butter vanilla flavour. Alternately mix flour with milk and sour cream into the dough. Preheat waffle iron, spread with oil and bake 10 waffles one after the other. Divide the waffles into hearts and serve with cherry compote and vanilla ice cream.
