Peel and quarter apples, remove core. Cut quarter into cubes. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Grate marzipan roughly. Cream soft fat, sugar, vanillin sugar, bitter almond flavour and salt.
Add marzipan and stir well. Stir in the eggs one after the other. Mix flour, starch and baking powder, stir in briefly. Drain apples and fold in. Grease a box form (30 cm long, 2 litres capacity) and dust with flour. Fill in the dough and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 50 minutes. Leave to rest in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a grid. Let cool off.
