Ingredients

  • 1 glass (720 ml; drained weight: 350 g) Cherries
  • 1 (approx. 225 g) Banana
  • 1 TABLESPOON Lemon juice
  • 100 g Fresh cream
  • 200 g soft butter or margarine
  • 175 g Sugar
  • 2 packages Vanillin sugar
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 400 g Flour
  • 2 TEASPOONS Baking Powder
  • 150 g Dark chocolate coating
  • 50 g Whole milk couverture
  • 7-10 Tbsp Banana slices and cocktail cherries
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour

Directions

    Drain the cherries. Peel the banana, cut it into pieces, sprinkle with lemon juice, add crème fraîche and puree. Cream fat, sugar and vanilla sugar with the whisk of the hand mixer. Stir in the eggs bit by bit. Mix flour and baking powder, alternating with the banana mixture.

    Fold in the cherries. Pour the dough into a greased, flour-dusted box form (approx. 2 litres capacity). Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 60 minutes. Leave the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a cake rack and let it cool down. Chop the chocolate coating separately and melt them one after the other over a warm water bath. Coat the cake with the dark chocolate coating, allow to dry. Decorate cake with banana slices and cocktail cherries. Decorate with light chocolate door strips. Leave to dry.
