Peel and halve the apples and cut out the core. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Cream fat, sugar, vanillin sugar and salt. Stir in the eggs one after the other. Mix flour, almonds and baking powder and stir into the egg mixture.
Stir in so much milk until the dough is easy to spread. Grease the oven pan and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Place the dough on top and smooth it down. Pre-bake in the preheated oven (electric oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for 10 minutes.
Spread the apples on the cake with the cut surface facing upwards. Bake for another 20-25 minutes. Remove the cake and let it cool down a little. Put the cranberries in the apple halves.
