Ingredients

  • 1.25 kg sour apples
  • 6 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 200 g + 250 g butter/margarine
  • 125 g + 150 g sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Cinnamon
  • 250 g + 375 g flour
  • 50 g ground almonds or hazelnuts
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 5 Eggs (Gr. M)
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 75 ml Milk
  • 1 TABLESPOON Icing sugar

Directions

    Wash, peel and quarter the apples and cut out the core. Cut apples into small pieces and sprinkle with lemon juice

    For the crumbles, first knead 200 g fat, 125 g sugar, 1 pinch of salt, cinnamon, 250 g flour and almonds with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Then work into coarse crumbles with your hands

    For the sponge mixture, mix 250 g soft fat, 150 g sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar and 1 pinch of salt in a large bowl until creamy. Stir in the eggs one after the other. Mix 375 g flour and baking powder. Alternately stir in the milk. Fold in apple pieces

    Spread the apple dough on a greased baking tray (approx. 35 x 40 cm). Spread crumbles evenly on top. Bake the cake in a hot oven (electric range: 175 °C / fan oven: 150 °C / gas: level 2) for 30-35 minutes. Cool and dust with icing sugar
