Ingredients

Servings: 24
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour
  • 1 package Pudding powder vanilla
  • 2 TABLESPOONS + 250 g sugar
  • 400 ml Milk
  • 1.5 kg Apples
  • 5 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 250 g + 100 g soft butter
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 package Orange-Back
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 5 Eggs (Gr. M)
  • 350 g Flour
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 150 g Fresh cream
  • 75–100 g demerara sugar

Directions

  1. 1

Grease a fat pan (approx. 32 x 39 cm; at least 3.5 cm deep) and dust with flour. Mix the pudding powder, 2 tbsp. sugar and 6 tbsp. milk. Boil up the rest of the milk. Stir in pudding powder, bring to the boil again and simmer for about 1 minute while stirring.

  2. 2

Let it cool down and stir more often.

  3. 3

Peel, quarter and core the apples and cut the round side deep several times, but do not cut through. Sprinkle with lemon juice.

  4. 4

Cream 250 g butter, 250 g sugar, vanilla sugar, orange bake and 1 pinch of salt. Stir in the eggs one by one. Mix flour and baking powder and stir in portions briefly. Spread the dough on the fat pan.

  5. 5

Stir the crème fraîche into the pudding. Spill on the dough and spread thinly. Spread the apple quarters with the round side up. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/circulating air: 150 °C/gas: level 2) for about 30 minutes.

  6. 6

Mix 100 g butter and brown sugar.

  7. 7

Take the cake out of the oven. Spread the butter-sugar-mixture evenly in flakes and bake at the same temperature for about 30 minutes. Let it cool down.
