Ingredients

  • 425 g Butter or margarine
  • 500 g Flour
  • 325 g Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 100 g flaked almonds
  • 1.5 kg Apples
  • 3-4 Tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 8 Eggs (size M)
  • 75 g Cornstarch
  • 2 slightly heaped Tsp baking powder
  • 200 g thickened cranberries
  • 200 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 300 g Schmand
  • 1 package Pudding powder "Vanilla Flavor"
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour

Directions

    Melt 175 g fat in a pot. Mix 250 g flour, 125 g sugar and 1 pinch of salt in a bowl. Pour hot fat all at once into the flour-sugar mixture and knead into crumbles with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Mix in the flaked almonds and allow to cool

    Wash, peel and quarter the apples and remove the core. Cut apple quarters into thick slices, mix with lemon juice and set aside

    Mix 250 g soft fat, 200 g sugar, vanillin sugar and 1 pinch of salt with the whisk of the hand mixer for about 8 minutes until creamy. Stir in 4 eggs one after the other alternating with 4 tbsp. starch. Mix the remaining starch, flour and baking powder, add to the fatty egg mixture and stir in briefly

    Coarsely grate the marzipan, add the sour cream and stir until smooth with the whisk of the hand mixer. First mix in 4 eggs, then the pudding powder. Pour the icing evenly over the apple slices. Sprinkle with the almond sprinkles

    Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 40-50 minutes. Finish the cake in a fat pan and let it cool down on a kitchen grid. Cut cake into pieces and sprinkle with icing sugar as desired. Whipped cream tastes good with it
