Ingredients

Servings: 30
  • 550 g soft butter
  • 525 g Sugar
  • 2 packages Vanillin sugar
  • 9 Eggs (size M)
  • 750 g Schichtkäse (20 % fat)
  • 2 tablespoons (10 g each) Cornstarch
  • 200 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 650 g Flour
  • 1,75 kg Apples (e.g. Elstar)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 3 TSP Baking Powder
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour

Directions

  1. 1

Cream 150 g butter, 150 g sugar and 1 packet of vanilla sugar with the whisks of the hand mixer. Stir in 4 eggs bit by bit. Stir in the layered cheese and starch. For the crumbles, coarsely grate marzipan.

  2. 2

Put 150 g butter in flakes, marzipan, 125 g sugar, 250 g flour and 1 egg in a bowl. First work into crumbles with the dough hooks of the hand mixer, then with your hands. Peel, quarter and core apples, cut them into thin slices and sprinkle them with lemon juice.

  3. 3

For the sponge mixture, mix 250 g butter, 250 g sugar, 1 sachet vanillin sugar and salt until creamy. Stir in 4 eggs one after the other. Mix 400 g flour and baking powder, stir in briefly. Grease the fat pan of the oven (32 x 39 cm) and dust with flour.

  4. 4

Add the sponge mixture and smooth it down. Spread half of the apples on the dough. Add the cheese mixture and smooth it down. Spread the remaining apple slices on the cream. Add crumbles.

  5. 5

Bake in the preheated oven (electric range: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) on the lower rack for 40-50 minutes. Let cool on a cake rack. Whipped cream tastes good with it.
