Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg sour apples
  • 7-10 Tbsp Juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 glass (370 ml) Cherries
  • 200 g soft butter/ margarine
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 2 drops of butter vanilla aroma
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 5 Eggs (Gr. M)
  • 375 g Flour
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 3-5 tablespoons (50 ml) Mineral water
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 75-100 g flaked almonds
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS Icing sugar for dusting

Directions

    Wash and peel the apples and remove the core. Cut apples into slices and sprinkle with lemon juice. Drain cherries well on a sieve

    Beat the fat, sugar, vanilla aroma and salt until creamy with the whisk of the hand mixer. Stir in the eggs one by one. Mix flour and baking powder, fold in. Stir in mineral water

    spread the dough on a greased baking tray (35 x 40 cm)

    Spread apple slices and cherries on the dough. Bake in the pre-heated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C / convection oven: 175 °C / gas: level 3) for 30-40 minutes. Sprinkle with almonds about 15 minutes before the end of the baking time. Let the cake cool down. Dust with icing sugar
