Ingredients

  • 1 kg sour apples
  • 3-4 Tbsp Lemon juice
  • 175 g + 75 g soft
  • 7-10 Tbsp butter/margarine
  • 125 g + 75 g sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated rind of
  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 1 pinch salt, 3 eggs (Gr. M)
  • 200 g flour, 50 g cornstarch
  • 1 heaped Tsp baking powder
  • 3-5 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (25 g) Honey
  • 100 g Almond slivers

Directions

    Wash, peel and quarter the apples and remove the core. Cut or scratch the apple halves several times on the curved side and sprinkle with lemon juice.

    Cream 175 g fat, 125 g sugar, lemon peel and salt. Stir in the eggs one by one. Mix flour, cornstarch and baking powder. Stir in 1-2 tbsp. milk

    Pour the dough into a greased springform pan (26 cm Ø) and smooth it down. Place the apples on top with the convex sides facing upwards, press in a little. Bake in a hot oven (electric cooker: 175 °C / convection oven: 150 °C / gas: level 2) for about 20 minutes

    Bring 75 g fat, 75 g sugar, vanillin sugar, honey and almonds to the boil and brown lightly. Stir in 2-3 tablespoons of milk. Spread the bee sting mixture on the apples. Bake the cake for another 30-40 minutes. Serve with whipped cream if necessary
