Peel apples and cut them into thick slices. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Place eggs, 175 g sugar, 1/2 packet vanilla sugar and salt in a mixing bowl and whisk until frothy.
Add oil and juice while stirring. Mix flour and baking powder and stir in portions. Grease a springform pan (26 cm Ø) and fill in the dough. In the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) on the 2nd rung of the oven.
Bake from the bottom for 50-55 minutes. After about 10 minutes baking time, generously cover with apple slices. Melt butter, remaining sugar and vanillin sugar in a pan while stirring. Add flaked almonds and stir in.
Let it boil down at low heat for 3-4 minutes. After about 20 minutes baking time spread almond paste on the cake and bake it ready. If necessary, cover the cake 10-15 minutes before the end of the baking time. Let it cool down on a cake rack.
Take the cake out of the tin and serve decorated with whipped cream and apple slices as desired. Makes about 12 pieces.
