Ingredients

  • 6 Apples (approx. 125 g each)
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 125 g Butter or margarine
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 Eggs (size M)
  • 175 g Flour
  • 1/2 package Baking Powder
  • 20 g flaked almonds
  • 1 TABLESPOON Apricot Jam
  • 1 TABLESPOON Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

    Wash, peel and halve apples, cut out the core. Score the top of the apple halves several times and sprinkle with lemon juice. Cream fat, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt with the whisk of the hand mixer. Stir in the eggs one after the other. Mix flour and baking powder and stir in portions. Pour the dough into a greased springform pan (26 cm Ø), smooth it down and distribute the apple halves evenly. Sprinkle the rim with flaked almonds.

    Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for 40-45 minutes. In the meantime heat up the jam. Remove the cake from the oven and place on a grid. Brush the apple halves with the warm jam. Remove the cooled cake from the tin and dust the edges with icing sugar. Serve with whipped cream
