Advocaat cake with apples

Ingredients

  • 3 sour apples (approx. 200 g each) e.g. Boskop
  • 1 TABLESPOON Lemon juice
  • 250 g Butter or margarine
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 5 Eggs (size M)
  • 150 ml Egg liqueur
  • 425 g Flour
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and breadcrumbs

Directions

    Peel, quarter, core and dice apples. Drizzle apples with lemon juice. Stir fat, sugar, vanillin sugar and salt for about 8 minutes until creamy. Stir in eggs one by one.

    Add the advocaat while stirring. Mix flour and baking powder, stir briefly into the dough. Dab apples dry and fold in. Grease a ring cake tin (2 litres capacity) and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

    Pour in the dough and smooth it down. Bake the cake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 1 hour. Take out and let cool in the tin for about 5 minutes.

    Turn the cake over on a cake rack and let it cool down. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
